- Open Microsoft word or Microsoft excel and the document you wish to keep password.
- Click on file menu
- Click on save as
- Now save as window, will appear now click on the tools option in the windows.
- Select the option general options [or security options]
- This will open a save window that will allow you to keep a password used to open the file or to modify the file. Keep both password and hit enter.
- Now Reenter the password.
